INDUSTRY FORUM
CALL FOR SESSION LEADERS & SPEAKERS (PDF)

The IEEE GLOBECOM 2012 is positioned to highlight the professional interest geared toward industry participants, in addition to the traditional rich content offered for the last 54 years with the proven strong technical program. Concurrent Industry Forums are being planned to deliver broad interest on ‘Work in Progress.’ The industry focus will include regulatory impact assessments, business models and practices, current and emerging technologies, applications, design & development strategies and experiences, implementations and unique challenges in today’s networking and communications environment.

Proposals to lead or speak in a session are solicited. Submissions will be reviewed and selected by the Industry Forum Committee. Selected session topics and individuals will be scheduled into our program consisting of industry focused panel discussions, tutorials, hands-on workshops, or practical educational sessions. The duration of these parallel sessions is 90 minutes each.

A proposal of a Forum Session Leader is a commitment to arrange the specific topic of interest with 3-5 speakers. A proposal of an Industry Forum Speaker is a commitment to join in with other selected speakers under a specific topic. A workshop proposal is focused on topics of importance to industry and business in a more interactive and hands-on fashion. A tutorial proposal is run by an established expert in the subject field to offer lecture at nuts-and-bots level. Workshop and Tutorial proposals are not limited to 90 minute per session.

Other forms of proposals, new and traditional, in order to benefit industry professionals will also be considered.

A new form of discussion, titled “Lightning Talks,” is scheduled for the afternoon on December 6. It is consisted of spontaneous, short presentation sessions from the brave soul. Sign-ups will be accepted, on the spot, during the conference. Leonard Reder of JPL will post notices around the Conference Registration area for willing participants to share their new findings, comments and reflections based on talks throughout GLOBECOM 2012 sessions, regarding both industry and academic thoughts and point of view.
